Installation

Before starting work, a measurer visits the site and takes measurements required for the development of the design and calculation of materials. After that, the perimeter is marked. The next stage is earthwork operations. e According to the marking, a trench is dug and wells are drilled for the supports. Formwork panels and a reinforcing frame are installed in the trench, support posts are immersed in prepared wells, and concrete is poured. After it hardens, the formwork is removed. Depending on the configuration of the fence, posts are lined with bricks, and sections made of corrugated sheets, metal pickets, or concrete panels are installed. The rate of operation depends on:

• the condition of the site, i.e. it will take time to clear the perimeter of construction debris, remove shrubs, or dismantle an old fence;
• features of the landscape of the site and the scheme of underground utilities;
• weather conditions, it is possible to work with concrete only at a plus temperature; and
• the total length, height, and configuration of the fence.

Fences on a concrete foundation protect the territories of country mansions and cottages, administrative buildings, security facilities, and industrial enterprises. The popularity of capital fences is explained by their strength, reliability, vandal-proof qualities, and long service life. The monolithic fence with brick posts consists of:

• a frame made of shaped pipes connected by horizontal rails;
• sections made of concrete, metal pickets, or corrugated sheets; and
• a concrete base reinforced with metal bars.

The supports are lined with bricks and the top is covered with metal caps. They perform a decorative function and protect the supports from moisture and debris getting inside. Fences are divided into types according to the type of base and the material of the sections.

Foundations for monolithic fences come in two types:

● Strip foundations. A concrete strip reinforced with steel bars is connected to the platforms for the posts. Such a base is able to withstand the weight of massive enclosing structures.

● Monolithic foundations. A monolithic foundation is the most reliable and durable structure for a brick or stone fence. It can be used in areas with collapsible, moist, or swampy soils prone to frost heaving.

Sections for capital fences are made of:

● Vertical metal pickets. Euro-pickets are used for the installation of one-sided and double-sided fences. A great advantage is the ability to adjust the distance between the strips. Such a fence looks exactly like a wooden-picket one.

● Horizontal Euro-pickets. The sections consist of horizontal angle-wise strips. The fence is similar in design to blinds, not viewed through from the outside, and does not interfere with the free circulation of air.

● Corrugated sheets. For a classic solid fence, a single-color corrugated sheet up to 3 m high with stone or wood pattern is used.

● Concrete. The sections of the Euro-fence are reinforced concrete slabs, in the manufacture of which decorative shapes are used.

Advantages of fences with a monolithic foundation

In addition to reliable protection of a country house, cottage, or mansion from uninvited guests and curious glances, fences on a concrete base have multiple advantages. The main of which are:

• Reliability. Fences made of corrugated sheets with brick posts on a concrete base are resistant to wind loads and frost heaving of the soil.
• A large variety of designs. It is possible to build a fence of Euro-pickets with brick posts, in a horizontal or vertical, one-sided or double-sided design, or with sections made of corrugated sheets or concrete panels.
• Sound insulation. Solid fences have good sound insulation characteristics, so they are often installed along busy roads or railway tracks.
• Weather resistance. Concrete or metal sections are resistant to rain, wet snow sticking, direct sunlight, and seasonal temperature changes.
• Simple maintenance. Concrete sections, Euro-pickets, or corrugated sheets do not require annual painting. You can wash off dirt or dust from the surface with ordinary water from a hose or a mini-wash machine.
• Long service life. The fence on a strip or monolithic base will stand for at least 50 years.
